In Marvel collection movies, superheroes strive to save a world loved and remembered by audiences. But beyond those superheroes, the Avenger’s appearances are like us, simply fighting to ensure that their children are safe and not in danger. To help viewers better understand this, the WIIN channel introduces 10 of the most significant fathers in the Marvel collection movies and what makes them truly different, both for fans and their kids.
1. TONY STARK
Anthony Edward Stark is a fictional character portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film franchise. Stark is one of the central figures of the Marvel movie collections, having appeared in eleven films since his introduction in Iron Man (2008). Anthony “Tony” Stark is a genius inventor and billionaire industrialist, who suits up in his armor of cutting-edge technology to become the superhero Iron Man. The adopted son of weapons manufacturer Howard Stark. Tony made sure his family came first – he was a present and devoted father for his own daughter, Morgan. His love for Morgan Stark runs deep. Morgan grew up in Tony Stark’s new residence far away from civilization, off the grid with her father and mother. All of them lived a happy life after the Decimation.
T’Chaka from the Marvel collection was the eldest of Wakandan King Azzuri’s two sons. He married Ramonda, and the two eventually have a son, T’Challa and later a daughter named Shuri. Following the events in California, T’Chaka returned to Wakanda, where he sought solace in the City of the Dead. However, T’Chaka detected the presence of his son T’Challa and Nakia in the city’s catacombs, ordering them to come out and chastising his son for sneaking around. When T’Challa asked what was wrong, T’Chaka told his son that he was forced to make a difficult decision, but T’Challa reminded his father that all decisions were difficult for the king, reassuring him that his actions were done for the sake of Wakanda. As his son T’Challa reached a certain age, he assumed the mantle of Black Panther from his father in 2009. We learn that T’Chaka spent his whole life preparing T’Challa to one day take over the mantle of Black Panther — and King of Wakanda. T’Challa might not have known this preparation was going on, but that’s just what fathers do.
3. SCOTT LANG
Scott Lang is a character portrayed by Paul Rudd in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film franchise. He later became an electronic engineer and met and married Peggy Rae. Together they had a daughter Cassandra “Cassie” Lang. When his daughter Cassie was diagnosed as having a serious congenital heart condition, desperate to help his daughter. Lang breaking into the New Jersey home of Dr. Henry Pym, Lang stole Ant-Man’s Suit. He rescued Sondheim and defeated Cross, Lang was relieved when Sondheim was able to save the life of his daughter. We must say he’s excelling on the dad and Super Hero front as Cassie asked to be his sidekick/partner.
4. DRAX THE DESTROYER
Drax is a former Kylosian intergalactic criminal and a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He sought revenge on Ronan the Accuser for killing his wife and daughter. True to his name, Drax uses his super strength and combat skills to destroy any enemies of the galaxy. In fact, it’s their memory that fuels Drax’s need to take down Ronan the Accuser, Thanos, and the Children of Thanos. Ego was a Celestial-a primordial powerful being from the Marvel cinematic movie collection. Also the biological father of Peter Quill. Ego and Quill reunited for the first time in Berhert after saving the Guardians from hundreds of Sovereign fleet drones. Ego proceeded to take Quill to his planet to uncover Quill’s heritage and obtain the opportunity to be the father Meredith wanted him to be. When Quill happened to successfully inherit the Celestial gene, Ego bonded with his biological son where he did finally proceed to reveal his true colors, explaining his innate desire of remaking the universe by hypnotizing Quill into a trance to gain compliance. However, when Ego revealed he was responsible for his mother’s death, Quill snapped out of his hypnosis and reunited with Guardians, including Mantis to kill Ego and thwart the Expansion from continuation, saving trillions of lives.
6. CLINT BARTON
Clint Barton known from Marvel Collection Movies is an American skilled marksman, archer, and former special agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. turned member of the Avengers; “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Known for his use of a bow and arrow as his primary weapon, his skill is so great that it appears like he never misses. Barton and his wife live on a farmhouse in Missouri. Barton and Laura had two children, Cooper and Lila, who were raised in secrecy at the farmhouse. We learned that Clint had been keeping his family hidden away off the Super Hero grid to keep them safe and it worked.
In Marvel collection movies, Odin Borson is known as the former King of Asgard, protector of the Nine Realms, father of Hela and Thor, the adoptive father of Loki and husband of Frigga. Once the greatest warrior in all the Nine Realms, over the centuries he learned how to appreciate peace, eventually banishing his own daughter to Hel when she attempted to subjugate the entire universe. Odin raised both Thor and Loki as brothers, attempting to never allow Loki to feel any different from his brother or allow him to know his true Frost Giant nature. He taught them about the responsibilities of being king of Asgard, the history of Asgard’s great wars and other lessons about maintaining peace should they take the throne.
8. HOWARD STARK
Howard Stark was an inventor, scientist, engineer, businessman, and movie director. Stark married a woman named Maria and had a son, Tony. Eventually, Stark would push his son away, but did care for Tony and had high hopes that he would change the world. After managing to recreate the Super Soldier Serum, Stark and his wife were targeted by HYDRA and assassinated by the Winter Soldier. Tony learns to respect and understand his father for the choices he made along the way. Thanks to a moment these two shared in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame – one of Marvel Collection Movies, they even get to share one last hug.
Yondu is a Ravager Captain and protege of Stakar Ogord. However, he sold children to their father Ego but kept one child, Peter Quill, and raised him as his own son. Even with his flaws and manipulative attitudes, Yondu is an extremely charming and compassionate person and proved to be capable of acts of heroism. Despite being a notorious alien criminal, he has a level of humanity and a soft spot for Peter Quill, who he came to see as his own child. Yondu His most noble acts, which ultimately cemented his status as a true father figure for Quill and hero, were to sacrifice his own life to save Peter and even inspired him to stand up to his megalomaniac father. Also, before his death, Yondu told Quill that Ego may have been his father, but he wasn’t Quill’s “daddy” and admits though he didn’t do anything right raising Quill
10. HANK PYM
Hank Pym is a multi-faceted man, a passionate scientist who did not wish to see his work fall into the wrong hands. He has been considered one of the smartest humans on Earth. Pym was also a caring father and husband; however, once his wife, Janet van Dyne, sacrificed herself to save the world from a soviet ICBM, Pym became colder and distant. He sent his daughter Hope off to boarding school in order to protect himself and his young daughter from their loss. Hank loves, respects, and trusts Hope is at the end of Ant-Man when he finally gifts Hope her mother’s Wasp suit. Just because these two might have been estranged in the past doesn’t mean they still can’t find a way forward together.
