Originally conceived by Ben Affleck, the film is now co-written and directed by Matt Reeves, whose previous credits include Let Me In and the last two-thirds of Planet of the Apes trilogy. Since that, there have been constant updates on the new Batman movie as Reeves found his exciting new cast and announced their additions on social media. Moreover, Greig Fraser works as cinematographer, reuniting with Reeves after their collaboration on Let Me In (2010).
In March, Warner Bros decided to move the filming production to Liverpool, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. By August, filming will be limited to England, and crew members will be required to live close to the production area and not leave to the surrounding community. Exterior shots for Gotham City will be filmed in Chicago in mid-October. Therefore, the film has approximately three more months of filming and is expected to finish by the end of 2020.

Who is playing the new Batman?
First, let’s look back to our previous Batman actors. Who has the best Batsuit?
Obviously, the later the Batsuit is designed, the more imposing it looks. But no matter what they are wearing, all of them show refined manners and attitudes. Despite much debate, Pattinson finally won at the end. Explaining why Twilight star is chosen, the filmmaker expressed his appreciation for this man: “…he's just a gifted actor. He's been working on his craft in this really incredible way, and he also happens to be a tremendous, passionate sort of fan of Batman that way that I am and so…he looks like Batman but more than anything, he has the soul of someone I think can play a Batman like you'd never seen b
efore.” That’s really a brilliant decision as we might admit from the Batman trailer. Robert Pattinson has received generally good reactions from the public, it can be the chance for him to renew his previous images and diversify his acting career.
The Batman 2021 actor also shows the DCEU fandom how much he can empathize with this character. Pattinson told The New York Times: “His morality is a little bit off. He’s not the golden boy, unlike almost every other comic-book character. There is a simplicity to his worldview, but where it sits is strange, which allows you to have more scope with the character." Next, Jonah Hill was reported to play an undisclosed bad guy (maybe The Riddler) in the new Batman movie. Some others assumed that
he could play Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin. However, Paul Dano is the last name for the role of The Riddler. How expecting to have this villain appeared for the first time in a live-action Batman movie.

Reeves confirmed Carmine Falcone would also be rocking up in Gotham's underworld. He is played by John Turturro.

What The new Batman 2021 trailer has revealed
How did you feel after the first official Batman trailer was released? Undoubtedly, there were full of brutal, action-packed and prodigious scenes. But, what can we expect more in this upcoming movie, except fierce fights as in previous versions?
The new vision of Batman and other characters
Don’t worry. The trailer has shown some probably shocking appearances of Bruce Wayne. It doesn’t look like any existing playboy version that fans may expect, neither do the Cape Crusader's new suit and Batmobile. We also get initial looks at Catwoman, Commissioner Gordon, and even Colin Ferrell as the Penguin. Reeves emphasized that many of these characters are still coming into themselves: Selina Kyle is not Catwoman yet, The Riddler and The Penguin both just start their own criminal careers. Those are because the film is set during the second year of the Caped Crusader, with Bruce Wayne in the midst of his crime-fighting days and finding his feet as a vigilante – so it won’t be an origins story.
Reeves continues stressing: “And that is when the murders start to happen, and then the murders begin to describe sort of the history of Gotham in a way that only reinforces what he knows about Gotham, but it opens up a whole new world of corruption that goes much farther. But as that story starts to come out, without being an origin tale for him, it ends up being something that touches on his origins.” His reveal on the plot makes the new Batman movie more attractive and interesting to see than ever.
The Riddler may be the real big villain
Another uncovered detail is the battle between the primary antagonist Paul Dano's Riddler and Batman. The new Batman trailer reveals us a look at a greeting card- the hidden message Riddler left for Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon and the Caped Crusader. The Riddler asks: “What does a liar do when he’s dead?” What an interesting question! Could you answer that? According to Reeves, compared to the Riddler of Jim Carrey, "Paul Dano plays a version of the Riddler that no one has ever seen before... what he is doing is going to blow people's minds." So, let’s see how the Riddler can challenge “The World’s greatest detective”.
Last but not least, what we are waiting for in the new Batman movie is the interactions between Batman characters, a high-octane thrill from the beginning to the end.
The Batman official logo, artwork and more
The director Matt Reeves has revealed the official logo and some artwork for the new Batman movie. He was excited to share cool DC fandome artwork by Jim Lee. Although they are just pencil-sketching, the designers created them based on two main colors: red and black. Black color makes the Code Red of the Dark Knight much more impressive, or more Batman-existing as Gordon intended.

The new batman movie release date
The film was originally supposed to be released on June 21, 2021, but then was shifted to October 1, 2021 due to the pandemic. Because Pattinson was diagnosed with COVID-19, the filming production will continue with other none-Batman scenes while the star quarantines at home. However, the new Batman movie could be even more fascinating to hit the theater at Halloween, due to its noir-influenced The Long Halloween comic book.
